Chalkboards
A chalkboard, or blackboard, as they are often referred to is a reusable writing surface that is used to draw diagrams or text on. Chalkboards were traditionally made from smooth sheets of dark grey or black slate, however more recently the colour has been changed to green as it is considered easier to read from. Chalk is used to write on chalkboards and this is available in both white or assorted colours. Chalkboards and blackboards are very much associated with schools and until relatively recently would have been present in every classroom. Today, you will often see chalkboards used in restaurants, pubs and shops for displaying special offers.
