Guillotines use a very sharp blade to cut through sheets of paper in a vertical motion. Not to be confused with paper trimmers which use a rotary blade on a rail to cut paper. Guillotines are designed for more heavy duty work than paper trimmers, there are some guillotines which can cut through 180 sheets of paper in one go. Most guillotines will have a ruled, paper size guide to allow for accurate cutting and a good guillotine should incorporate a blade guard to avoid any nasty accidents with fingers. Makes to look for include Avery, GBC, Rexel and the heavy duty Dahle guillotines.
