What should you consider before purchasing a magazine rack………
Identification - Some Magazine racks will have finger holes on the spine for easy access and many have label holders on the front or spine for easy identification of contents.
Material - Whilst the majority of magazine racks are manufactured from plastic and come in a variety of colours to match office interiors, there are now some really contemporary designs manufactured from steel mesh, clear acrylic and coloured polystyrene. For the more ecologically minded purchaser, there are corrugated cardboard magazine racks and ones made from pressed cardboard from R-Kive. These are made from re-cycled paper and cardboard and come flat packed for easy storage, ready for easy assembly when needed.
Colours - Black, blues and dark reds are the traditional colours for this type of product, very similar to letter trays and other desk top furniture. However, as magazine holders are made from plastic or cardboard the choices of colour available are vast and growing all the time. Several brands now make ranges of vibrant colours that are designed to not only be functional but also add brighten up your desk space.
Compatible Products - If you are in the process of kitting out a new desk or are just refreshing your old one look out for magazine racks that are part of desktop accessories range. The office stationery brand Leitz has the excellent WOW range of accessories that come in four six vibrant colours and incorporates magazine holders, pen pots, letter trays, staples and hole punches.
